1992 - 2000At NOMOS I was a member of the team that created and supported the first Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) system in the world, the NOMOS Peacock system. It consisted of hardware that modulated the radiation beam as the treatment gantry rotated around the patient, and the treatment planning software which used computer optimization to determine the optimal set of beam intensities to use.
